The Dinner Twist Marketplace is excited to bring you our very first collaboration in our Limited Edition Series; Conti Roll from Deli’s Continental!

The aim of these initiatives is to be able to bring you products from local Perth companies. We’re talking fan-favourites, people queuing around the block, and new and fun dishes delivered right to your door. Dinner Twist is by locals, for locals and it is this ethos that has encouraged us to partner with some of Perth’s most beloved food hot spots.

Deli's Continental

A little bit about Deli’s Continental! Chefs Stev and Aldo became friends when they worked together in a pizza shop in Maylands. As a way to express themselves creatively, they began making and selling Conti rolls through word of mouth. It started humbly with only 20-30 rolls being sold each day. They passionately handmade all the bread and sauces. During Covid and as people caught onto how amazing their rolls were, the lines started forming, the 20 rolls turned into hundreds of rolls being sold each day. This gave them the confidence to lock in a brick-and-mortar shop in Inglewood. If you take a stroll down Beaufort Street and peer in the glass window of the shop, you will still see Steve and Aldo hand-making all the bread. You can literally smell it down the street. It is a real passion story, genuine people genuinely doing what they love!

How to do it

Stev and Aldo were kind enough to put together a tutorial so that you can see how they recommend your conti roll be prepared.

To begin:

Preheat oven to 250° and bake bread for 4 mins. Slice bread open whilst still warm.

What's in it

Many elements of the conti roll are lovingly made in-store by Stev and Aldo. Here is the ingredient breakdown for each element:

Bread: water, salt, fresh yeast, unbleached wheaten flour, non-iodised salt, malt flour, mineral salt (E170), soya flour, emulsifier (E472), guar gum, ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), enzyme, vitamin (Thiamine, Folic Acid).

Fior Di Latte: pasteurised cow's milk, rennet (non-animal), citric acid.

Pickles: peppers, white wine vinegar, sulphur dioxide, contains sulphites, citric acid.

Deli Meats: pork, dextrose (maize), tapioca, spices, sugar, antioxidant 316, mineral salt 451, preservative 250, 251, acidity regulator 331, 451, starter culture, fermented red rice, polyphosphates (E452), sodium erythorbate 316, starch, preservative (250(nitrate), tri-phosphate (E451), dietary fibre, natural flavours, sodium ascorbate (E301), dextrose.

Other: garlic, capsicum, chilli, olive oil, cherry tomatoes, basil, green olives, black olives, parsley, lemon juice.
