Legendary Lunch Boxes

Let’s be real—packing school lunches can feel like a never-ending puzzle. One day your kid loves sandwiches, the next, they act like they’ve never seen bread before. If you’re stuck in a lunchbox rut, consider this your secret weapon!
We’ve rounded up the ultimate mix of lunchbox winners, and how best to pair them. Think cheesy, veggie-packed Baked Mac & Cheese Bites, sticky-sweet Teriyaki Meatballs with Sushi Rice, and fresh, fuss-free Avocado Roll-Ups. Need snacks to keep the kids going? Crunchy Chickpea & Oat Crackers, fluffy Sweet Potato Mini Pancakes, and chewy Choc Chip & Blueberry Bars have got you covered. These recipes are easy to prep (and prep them you can!), lunchbox-friendly, and, most importantly, kid-approved. Gone are the days of packing a lunch just to see it return home that afternoon.  Let’s make lunchtime legendary with meals that are easy, tasty, and guaranteed to get a thumbs-up from your little food critics!

Simple Roll-Ups & Snazzy Crackers

Recipes :
In this lunch box, we paired simple Avocado Roll-Ups with Chickpea & Oat Crackers. Hot tips for this pairing:
  • Take me to the Avocado Roll-Ups recipe
  • Balancing nutrients can be tricky; use wholegrain wraps if you have them, or add grated carrot to the avocado mix for extra veg content.
  • Take me to the Chickpea & Oat Cracker recipe
  • Kids love to dip! We used French onion dip, you can use natural or Greek yoghurt, salsa, or hummus.
  • Even if your kids only eat two vegetables, try packing one vegetable on the first day, and the other vegetable the following day. This gives the notion of variety to your kids, while still working within their comfort zone.
  • Shapes matter! We cut our crackers into squares, you can cut yours into rectangles or triangles, or if you have small cookie cutters, try circles or stars. Talk to your kids about the different shapes and pat yourself on the back for providing a math lesson!

Try pairing with Organic Medjool Dates, Kooee! Natural Beef Jerky Sea Salt and Ceres Organics Coconut Wafer Rolls from the Dinner Twist Marketplace.

Sticky Meatballs & Sweety Pancakes

Recipes :
In this lunch box, we paired Sticky Teriyaki Meatballs & Sushi Rice with Sweet Potato Mini Pancakes. Hot tips for this pairing:
  • Take me to the Sticky Teriyaki Meatballs & Sushi Rice recipe
  • Get the kids involved! Have the kids (wash their hands!) roll the meatballs. Kids are more likely to eat what they help make because they feel a sense of ownership and pride.
  • Involve picky eaters in particular! When kids see, touch, and prepare food, they become more comfortable with different textures and flavours.
  • Take me to the Sweet Potato Mini Pancake recipe
  • Pancake batter can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours. However, since baking powder starts reacting once mixed with wet ingredients, stir in an extra ¼ tsp of baking powder right before cooking to maintain fluffiness.

Try pairing with Ceres Organics Seaweed Snacks, Simply 7 Snacks Lentil Chips Sea Salt and Dr Superfoods Organic Cranberries from the Dinner Twist Marketplace.

Cheesy Bites & Bountiful Bars

Recipes :
In this lunch box, we paired Baked Mac & Cheese Bites with Choc Chip & Blueberry Bars. Hot tips for this pairing:
  • Take me to the Baked Mac & Cheese Bites recipe
  • Small portions or finger foods make it easier and quicker to eat during short lunch breaks. Baking the Mac & Cheese bites in a cupcake tray, or in one large tray and then cutting them into small squares fits this brief perfectly.
  • Use a bento box or divided container to pack lunches. This keeps food separate and fresh while making it visually appealing and fun for kids.
  • Take me to the Choc Chip & Blueberry Bars recipe
  • To reduce the sugar content or experiment with different flavours, substitute the maple syrup with agave syrup or honey. Keep in mind that honey may change the texture slightly, so it might need a little more time to set.

Try pairing with Veggie Stick Kit, Serious Popcorn Sweet & Salty and Mondo Butcher & Grocer Sliced Salami from the Dinner Twist Marketplace.
