In celebration of World Environment Day {And this year it’s all about beating air pollution} We have put together 3 easy ways you can reduce your carbon footprint - and how using Dinner Twist can help you find your inner eco-warrior!
Compost it!
Did you know 10.5 million tonnes of organic waste heads for landfill each year from Aussie households?
Organic waste creates methane, a greenhouse gas 30 times worse than carbon dioxide.
But if Australians composted this waste, the result would be equivalent of 750,000
cars off the road.
Check out our blog on how to create your own at home compost here!
or you can buy a composting kit from stores such as Bunnings or local gardening stores.
Opt for meat-free days
As it stands Agriculture is responsible for an estimated 14 per cent of the world's
greenhouse gases.
A significant portion of these emissions come from methane.
{cows belching and flatulence!!}
An average dairy cow can produce as much methane comparable to the
pollution produced by a car in a day.
However you look at it, that's a lot of methane! Why not try a meat-free recipe once a week?
You could even try our Plant-based box once a month as a way to mix it up!
We have lots of inspo and recipes available on our blog to help!
